HVAC integration with access control and site systems

Example scenarios

Specific scenarios are agreed with the customer based on what the HVAC controller offers. Examples:

• presence in a zone (entries and exits) influences the ventilation mode,
• an alarm or an opened door changes the operating mode or triggers a notification,
• the visitor and contractor schedule prepares rooms in advance,
• a common view of HVAC and access states in an operator application.

How it works

1. 01

   HVAC controller

The interface provided by the controller or the building's supervisory system.

2. 02

   Adapter

A custom driver or protocol adapter translates data points into events.

3. 03

   Integration layer

Rules, buffering and an audit trail connect HVAC with access control and applications.

What we need for the analysis

• the type of controller or supervisory system,
• interface documentation and the list of data points,
• the site's network security rules,
• a description of the scenarios that should work.

Frequently asked questions

Which HVAC controllers do you connect to?

It depends on the interface the controller exposes and on the documentation. We establish the scope during analysis.

Do you change control algorithms?

We do not change the controller's regulation logic unless agreed with the installation vendor. The integration adds reactions to events.

Can HVAC work together with intrusion alarm and access control?

Yes. All three systems can use one integration layer and shared rules.
